Day 5 - Your Favorite Quote

My most favorite quote of all times does not come from some famous person, it's not a quote that everyone knows and that has been broadcasted around the country, it's a quote originally made by a New York/New Jersey based airline attendant and reiterated and made famous by my crazy free spirited little sister.

"Excuse me, hellllloooooo........?!?!"

Ok so picture this.....my family is in NYC to watch the tarheels play in the preseason NCAA basketball tournament. We've spent several days full of basketball, shopping, and a little NYC tourism, before we hopped into the back of "Osama's" taxi cab for a ride across the Hudson to the airport. Yes that's right, were in New York City and riding around with Osama.....uhh, of all the yellow taxis in that daggum city and we hop into Osama's??? Oh and to top it off, daddy's in the front seat asking Osama questions about 911 and terrorism (meanwhile momma, baily, and I are praying in the back seat that we survive this ride and don't end up another party of history).

So anyways, once we make it to the airport and as were getting ready to board the plane, were handing over our tickets to the lady at the gate, well I guess Baily did not wait long enough for this lady to do what she has to do (evidently it's hard work and time consuming to take a piece of paper out of her hand and scan it) but anyways I guess she didn't wait long enough, because as she was walking down the concourse this lady feels it necessary to hollar (in a typical NewYork/NewJersey northern accent, the one thats like 'sweet sugar' to every southerner's ears...ha) at Baily "Excuse me, helllllooooo..........?!?!" Yea, this lady wanted baily to come back up to the ticket counter, for nothing other than to wait beside the lady while she scanned her ticket. Those of you who know Baily know that she says whatever she pleases, whenever she pleases, so after this lady has yelled at her and as Bai is walking back up the concourse Baily uses an accumulation of her best 1. Northern accent 2. sassy head bob 3. finger pointed in the air, and yells right back at this lady in full mock-mode "Excuse me, helllloooo.......?!?!"

......by far the most hilarious experience of my ENTIRE life.....probably one of those "had to be there" moments, but man if you were. I promise you would still be laughing today....because we still do. Needless to say, it has become this on-going joke with the Jones family, and a memory that we will never forget.

Day 4 - Your Favorite Book

Without a doubt the BEST books you will ever read. These books are incredible, once you start them you will not be able to put them down, and once you start the first "Something Borrowed" you better hope you already have "Something Blue" on standby because you will not be able to stop. Every woman should read these books and if she's not already then the lovely Emily Giffin will become your absolute most favorite author and you will soon be reading all of her other books which are also incredible.
Oh and guess what.....................there making a MOVIE of "Something Borrowed" starring Kate Hudson......OMG I can't wait, you better believe I will be there at the first showing opening weekend!

Weekend at the B & A

This weekend we had not one but two weddings to go to and both receptions took place at Birmingham's B&A Warehouse. I had been to a small private event for Samford University there several years ago, but never to a reception. OMG, the food was sooo good. It was so tasty, especially Friday night's wedding, which included an assortment of southern food: mashed potato bar, mini cheese burgers and mini bbq sandwiches, roast beef, chicken fingers, turkey sandwiches on sweet potato bread, grilled vegetables, fried green tomatoes, and lots more. Saturday's included some of the same but substituted a grits bar, nacho bar, and pasta bar. Needless to say, Ty and I ate good this weekend....(probably gaining quite a few lbs. in the process.)

Wedding/Reception #1:
Friday night's reception was for a couple: Chris and Jen, that we met through our good friends Nick and Jamie. Jen went to school with Nick and they have been friends forever and so we have gotten to know them pretty well through the Sewell's. They were even a part of our Spring Kickball Tam. I did not take many pictures at this reception, and I am so mad at myself for it, oh well, better luck next time. I didn't even get a picture of Ty and I withe the bride and groom, I mean who does that. Here are a couple of the pictures that I took, Ty and I, Jamie and I, and then one of Ty, Nick, and Chris "getting low." Congratulations and Best Wishes Chris and Jen!

Wedding #2:
Saturday night's wedding was for Laura and Jason. Laura and I were in the same sorority at Samford, roommates for a year, and she was a bridesmaid in our wedding. Laura got married to Jason, whom she met while she, MarthaGrace and I lived together our senior year at Samford. Laura wore her mother's wedding gown on her special day, and MarthaGrace was her wedding photographer. I took a little more pictures this night but still not a whole lot of me with other people, so sad. One day I will learn. Anyways here are some pictures including; Laura and I, Ty and I, cutting the cake, one of Martha in action (couldn't help myself), and some of the room itself along with the bride and groom's cake, and the different food stations. Congratulations and Best Wishes Jason and Laura.

Day 3 - Your Favorite Television Program

Those that know me know that I am a TV fanatic. I mean I have a weekly schedule of shows that I watch. Now tv doesn't consume my life, I do have a life outside of tv. Greatest invention ever (besides a flat iron) is the DVR..........I mean what is better than the ability to record your favorite tv shows and watch them at your convenience? I wear mine out...all shows that I watch are set to automatically record just in case I miss them.

My Weekly TV schedule:
Sunday - "Brothers and Sisters" & ("Desperate Housewives")
Monday - "The Bachelorette"/"The Bachelor"/"Dancing with the Stars" (depending on the season of the year) & "Gossip Girl" & "90210"
Tuesday - "One Tree Hill"
Wednesday - ("CSI:NY")
Thursday - "The Office" & "Grey's Anatomy"

(See what I mean....Fanatic!) I even divide them up into priority:
1. Can't Miss/Must See
2. Try really hard to not miss.
3. Ok to record and watch later

So needless to say here are my favorite television shows ranked by priority:

1. Can't Miss/Must See:
"The Bachelorette", "Dancing with the Stars", "The Bachelor"

2. Try really hard to not miss:
"The Office", "Brothers and Sisters", "Grey's Anatomy"

3. Ok to record and watch later:
"One Tree Hill", "90210", "Gossip Girl"

Day 1 - Your Favorite Song:

Well I really don't know what my all time favorite song is so I'm doing my favorite song(s) at this moment in time. I have two songs that I just cannot get enough of. I mean every time they come on the radio I get so excited, turn up the volume, and sing my little heart out. (Ty absolutley loves it....yea right).
If you haven't heard them then I suggest you mosey your way on over to itunes and give them a listen. I promise, you'll love 'em.

1. Luke Bryan's "Rain is a Good Thing"

Not only is the song so good, but look at him.....isn't he just so PRESH?!?

2. Little Big Town's "Little White Church"

Gotta love anything that my fellow Samford University alums sing, but this song is so catchy and has that 'old mountain music' song feel.

30 Days of Blogging

Ok so as you know, I have made a pledge to starting blogging more, so to help me get started and get into the groove of it I have decided to participate in the "30 Days of Blogging" that my sister found on one of the blogs she reads and later participated in it on her blog. I even read that if you do something for 30 days straight it becomes a habit, so here goes....

Blessings,
Ashley
